EMM Accident Data and Concussion Sensor Technology

ALITRAX is proud to announce through our business partner EM Motorsport the availability of advanced Accident Data Recorders (ADR) and Ear Plug Accelerometers (EPA) to the motorsport industry here in Australia and New Zealand. This breakthrough technology, originally developed for Formula 1 promises to enhance safety data analysis for drivers and teams.

Discussion around concussion and its impact on athletes is high on the agenda in any sporting arena currently. In a motorsport first, the FIA recently launched a new educational program designed to raise awareness of the dangers of concussion.

ALITRAX aims to support this by integrating this technology into our new sensor product category, allowing any racing series, teams and or drivers the access to this crucial impact data.

EM Motorsport – ADR4 Sensor

The ADR – Accident Data Recorder from EM Motorsport is a cutting-edge accident data recorder that is FIA homologated, which means it comply with the highest standards required by FIA.

It uses a combination of internal accelerometers, gyroscopes, a CAN interface and other advanced sensors to capture essential data at the scene of an accident. These sensors are able to capture data related to the vehicle’s movements and accelerations at the time of the accident. This information can be used to determine the cause of the accident and to identify any areas where improvements can be made to vehicle safety. Additionally, the ADR includes a real-time clock and a GPS receiver, which can be used to augment the accident data and provide more detailed information about the accident location.

EM Motorsport – EPA Sensor

The EPA – Ear Plug Accelerometer from EM Motorsport is the best possible solution to analyze the decelerations suffered by the human brain.

Advanced three-axis accelerometers are inserted into the driver’s ear channels so as to obtain the most precise acceleration data possible. 3D models can be created based on the Information of the head movement of a driver during an accident. These are essential for Safety improvements and design of new technologies for reducing brain concussion. With the use of ADR4, it is possible to log all this vital information and analyzed in case of an accident.
