ALITRAX Smart Marshalling Integration
We are proud to announce the successful integration of the ALITRAX Light Panel System and EM Motorsport’s Smart Marshalling System, a significant advancement in track safety technology. This innovation allows motorsport circuits that have already invested in the current ALITRAX System to seamlessly enhance safety by introducing in-car warning component. Circuits without an ALITRAX install will all so benefit from this latest development.
What is the Smart Marshalling System
Smart Marshalling System introduces Formula 1 grade technology through our partner EM Motorsport to the broader motorsport community. Compatible with all racing and track day vehicles SM Devices provide real-time hazard alerts for track users and competitors.
Race Directors can track all vehicles in real time via GPS, while the system’s Accident Severity Index (ASI) detects crashes and sector flags, allowing for quick response actions.
GPS data is transmitted to Race Control through Sub GHz radio (ISM band), with bi-directional communication to drivers via LED signaling. Data can be easily downloaded for post-race analysis via integrated Wi-Fi.
In critical moments like Safety Car deployment or a Red Flag, the system provides accurate data for quick, informed decisions, ensuring clear communication with drivers and minimizing response time.
Accessible Approach
With this integration, devices can be placed directly in competitors’ cars or track day vehicles, providing real-time track status alerts directly to drivers. The safety benefits are clear, and the minimal infrastructure upgrade costs make it a highly accessible solution compared to a full system overhaul with new FIA light panels. Circuits can adopt a staggered approach, implementing in-car warnings ahead of larger, more costly infrastructure upgrades, enabling an incremental path to full compliance.

Results and Impact
During the second qualifying session for the 2024 Adelaide 500, Jaxon Evans experienced a significant crash at the high-speed Turn 8. His Brad Jones Racing Camaro made heavy contact with the wall, causing substantial damage to the vehicle.
For a detailed real-time case study on how the EM Motorsport Safety System was utilized during this incident in Race Control, alongside the Smart Marshaling System integrated into the circuit’s response vehicles. Please contact ALITRAX for mor information.

Adaptive Safety
Even circuits without an existing ALITRAX or EM Motorsport system can benefit. In this scenario, track status warnings would come directly from Race Control, as no light panels or local marshal inputs would be required. Furthermore, championships or series can invest in a portable system for temporary installations at circuits without permanent setups, requiring only basic power and network availability for Smart Marshaling to function.
